About the Role : The Field Marketing Manager is a high-energy, strategic results driven marketer, key partner, and consultant to our Independent Operator community. This individual must collaborate effectively with key business partners in areas such as operations, construction, training, sales & merchandising. They will be responsible for on-site event execution of Grand Opening plans and work proactively to ensure that new stores are successfully introduced (on budget) to their market through the development of store specific marketing plans. Ensure the Independent Owner-Operators have the training, tools and resources required to create and execute successful local marketing plans to sustain and grow their business through their first year of operations. This role additionally supports focus market needs including changeover support, developing underperforming store marketing strategy, and special project assistance. This role reports to the Director Field Marketing & Promotions.
Responsibilities Include :
Relationship Management and Communications
- Ability to influence and coach the Independent Owner-Operator on effective marketing strategies and use of available resources.
- Partner with Field Marketing Team and subject-matter experts to develop and execute impactful programs for local store / community marketing for new stores.
- Partner with external agencies to develop press materials, media plans, and event coordination.
New Stores & New Markets
Lead East New Store Marketing strategy and execute grand opening activities that achieve sales goals.Travel to all assigned store openings and lead onsite event execution - some may be out of regular trade area.Lead opening day event and support staff, 3rd
party vendors and act as liaison with community partners.
Assist on market wide initiatives and provide support to focus stores as needed.Order, build and prepare marketing materials for each new store.Develop store events that create excitement and drive trial.Tools and Resources
Utilize tools to identify key characteristics and opportunities in new store trade areas, conducting market research to understand consumers and implement marketing strategies.Create local marketing templates and playbooks for use by Independent Operators.Manage the process (intake, oversight, reporting, project management) for new store marketing support requests.Champion operator adoption of new tools, especially digital marketing platforms that provide insights and analytics.Reporting and Metrics
Monitor store performance quickly identify key wins / concerns and create action plan.Prepare and distribute weekly reporting on local store marketing activities and best practices.Brand Protection and Education
Ensure adherence to the Grocery Outlet brand style guide.Coordinate production of marketing materials that are on brand.About The Pay :

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, or related field.Minimum five years of experience in Marketing, Field Marketing, and / or organizing and delivering training programs with increasing management responsibility.Ability to identify unique opportunities and quickly leverage to achieve positive outcome.High aptitude for looking at problems as opportunities, then working with others to create unique solutions to solve them.Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to work with and maintain long-term relationships with operator community, stakeholders, and team members.A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to juggle multiple, demanding tasks simultaneously and with accuracy.Ability to manage ambiguity and quickly shift gears as deadlines and business needs shift.Ability to collaborate with other internal departments to create a positive companywide team effort.Must be willing to travel up to 75%.
