Position Summary :
The position (K0227545)
Monitor, review and analyze proposed and final federal regulations and guidance relating to air quality programs. Conduct in-depth policy research on environmental and economic impacts of proposed and final regulations. Research will include other state and federal air quality laws, regulations and related policy documents, such as 111(d) Plans and State Implementation Plans (SIPs). Technical research will require understanding and applying scientific principles and developing expertise in air pollution control methodologies and process technologies including combustion, fermentation, and others.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following :
Draft new and proposed amendments to Kansas administrative regulations as assigned by the Director. Draft accompanying Regulatory Impact Statement, Environmental Benefit Statement, public notice, testimony for public hearing and Joint Committee on Administrative Regulations, response to comments, submittal documents, and all supplementary documentation. When necessary, submit all relevant documentation of effective Kansas Administrative Record to EPA for approval.
Qualifications
High School, GED
Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
Four years direct experience in natural science
Four years direct experience in Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry, Meteorology, Physics, Geology, Biology, Env. Science. or Legal
