JOB SUMMARY :
Works under the general direction and guidance of the QA Supervisor. The Quality / Lab Technician is responsible for specific activities, as described below, relative to the laboratories and factory.
HOURS & SCHEDULE :
This position will require working on a 2 / 2 / 3,12-hour day shift schedule. The day shift occurs from 7 : 00AM-7 : 00PM. The schedule pattern is summarized below :

Responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing all media to be used in the micro labMaintain inventories of all in-house prepared media used for microbiological analysesMaintain an accurate inventory of media bases and other lab supplies and notify the Supervisor of shortages in time to reorderResponsible for picking up finished product samples from the hi-rise, returning samples to the hi-rise after testing, and maintaining adequate room in the Micro Lab freezerResponsible for the routine cleaning (as directed by company Standard Operating Procedures) of lab equipment. This includes but is not limited to pathogen lab floors, cabinets, freezers, refrigerators, and incubators and other areas as directedResponsible for all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual equipment checks as directed in compliance with Company Standard Operating Procedures. This will include incubators, pH meters, distilled water system, freezers, refrigerators, autoclaves, balances, and other equipment as directedAutoclave any items requiring sterility and maintain autoclaves and autoclave records on a daily basisOn an as-needed basis (fill-in for Microbiologist or Specialist), responsible for the accurate and efficient microbiological analysis of raw ingredients and finished products including the completion of all data records related to analysis in compliance with the Raw Goods Sample Plan and the Finished Goods Sample PlanOn an as-needed basis, assist the Microbiologist and Micro Lab Specialist in the completion of their duties including data entry, finished goods sampling, raw material sampling, and filingResponsible for accurately and efficiently performing chemical testing on incoming goods as per established procedureResponsible for obtaining and performing quality tests on milk storage tanks, STOVEX storage tanks, and blend vats for fat acidity, solids, odor, taste, etc. as requiredChemistry lab p-test scheduling and results managementInputting data and results into SAPWork in a safe manner and maintain a clean and orderly work environmentResponsible for performing other duties, as assignedREQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL :
High School Diploma or GED equivalent requiredBachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, general science, food science or related field preferredEXPERIENCE / SKILLS :
Preferably 1-3 years manufacturing QA / QC and / or laboratory experience in food industrySAP experience preferredKnowledge of continuous improvementMust have good verbal and written communication skillsStrong attention to detailMust be able to handle multiple assignmentsMust be precise and accurate, well-organized workerMust be able to perform in a demanding, fast-paced environmentGood mathematical (basic statistical skills highly desirable), problem-solving and analytical skillsProficiency with computer systems, personal computers, spreadsheet software (Microsoft Office, etc.) and mainframe system with custom applications preferredIt is our business imperative to remain a very inclusive workplace.
