POSITION SUMMARY

In addition to typical Youth Development Specialist requirements, the Assistant Supervisors are expected to act as leaders on their respective shifts, conveying consistency, purpose, expectations, accountability, and direction to the YDS they work with. Additionally, they will act as models of youth engagement, taking ownership of creating a therapeutic milieu, displaying appropriate de-escalation techniques, and encouraging fellow staff to engage intentionally and regularly. Assistant Supervisors act as the central trainers for on-the-job training of new hires, and they will take on additional responsibilities such as coordination of intake, discharge, cleaning vans, allowance, etc. Additionally, Assistant Supervisors are the Campus Programs leader during their shifts, assisting in any crisis and directing emergency personnel when they are the highest ranking staff on campus.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional Assistant Supervisor Responsibilities :

Supervision Received : Specific Direction - Follows established work procedures. Receives periodic checks for performance. Refers unique questions / conditions to immediate supervisor. Additionally, YDS will meet with assigned supervisor once weekly for the first 90 days. After successful completion of 90 days, YDS could meet with assigned supervisor on bi-weekly basis.
