You’ll create previs for shoots, turn the shoot data into cinematic sequences, and then work alongside animation and design to bring the cameras to final polish.What you will do : Create sequences that clearly depict staging, blocking, camera motion, and character performance for cinematics, from rough layout to final camera polishHand animate cameras for interactive and cinematic sequencesManipulate performance capture data when necessary to best tell the storyPrevis sequences based on narrative script, figuring out pacing, blocking prior to shootSupport animation and design teams for in-game camerasProvide solutions to creative problems, and be capable of pitching ideas verballyCommunicate clearly with production staff and manage production tasksOversee the technical aspects of camera implementation across the gameWhat skills you will use : 5+ years of experience as a Camera Layout or Previs artist in the game or film industryMaya experience is required : generalist level skill at animating, modeling, rigging, shading, lighting, etc.Experience working with motion capture dataAbility to tell compelling stories through cinematography and editingWork ethic and follow-throughOpenness to criticism and ideasClear and kind communication within the team and across disciplinesArtistic and technical skillsTeamworkExcellent attention to detailCreativity and innovation in visual storytellingEfficiency and organization in workflowProven ability to work autonomously and take initiativeBonus SkillsComfortability with scripting languagesComfortability with 2d artistic tools such as Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro is a plusExperience working on a motion capture setExperience hand-operating a virtual cameraIf this sounds like you, please submit your resume and reel!As a part of the Naughty Dog application process, candidates may be asked to complete a cinematic test.#LI-AB1Please refer to our Candidate Privacy Notice for more information about how we process your personal information, and your data protection rights.At SIE, working with our partners, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
