Position Overview

Provide skateboarding instruction and supervision to participants of varying ability levels to improve their skateboarding skills. Assist in the execution of meaningful skateboard / BMX programs to develop leadership, character, and fitness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Present a skateboarding program through cheerful, helpful, and efficient service
  • Demonstrate skillful wheel sports abilities to intentionally and cheerfully teach novice riders in BMX / skate
  • Assist in the set up and takedown of BMX / skate facilities
  • Ensure the safety of all riders in skateboard / BMX activities
  • Turn paperwork into supervisor accurately and timely
  • Maintenance of Skate / BMX equipment and facilities
  • Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
  • Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
  • Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications

  • Minimum age : 18+
  • Preferred : Experience teaching or riding skateboarding
  • Preferred : Experience maintaining skateboards or skateparks
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

    • Physical & Practical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bike up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift / move up to 50 pounds
  • Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height / weight guidelines
  • Housing : 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform : Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours : 45-55
