About the Role

Join our dedicated horticulture team in maintaining and enhancing one of the most unique hospital landscapes in the country. Our 30-acre botanical garden-style campus features over 3,000 plant species—including rare and uncommon varieties—across diverse environments such as rain gardens, green roofs, wildflower meadows, and therapeutic play spaces. This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to contribute to a healing environment for patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage and maintain up to 10 acres of landscape, including trees, shrubs, perennials, grasses, and ferns.
• Perform skilled gardening tasks : weeding, grooming, planting, transplanting, and pruning a wide variety of woody plants.
• Maintain exterior hardscapes and ensure all areas are clean, safe, and visually appealing.
• Operate tools and equipment including hand pruners, loppers, hedge shears, saws, carpentry tools, backpack blowers, mowers, and string trimmers.
• Drive hospital vehicles and coordinate with team members on larger projects.
• Work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions across multiple hospital sites.

Required Qualifications

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and / or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
