Full-Time | Day Shift 6AM-2 : 30PM or 9AM-5 : 30PM | $27.36-$38.30 / Hour | Rotating Weekends

This Certified Surgical Technologist - CVOR position provides critical support for cardiovascular surgical procedures in a facility providing quality healthcare services since 1909. The hospital specializes in cardiac surgery, orthopedics, spine care, mental and behavioral health, and cancer services. Day shift options available (6AM-2 : 30PM or 9AM-5 : 30PM) with rotating weekends. Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist cardiovascular surgeons during open heart procedures, valve replacements, CABG, and other cardiac surgical interventions.
- Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with cardiovascular surgical instrumentation, equipment, and specialized cardiac devices.
- Maintain integrity of sterile field and adhere to strict aseptic technique during all cardiovascular procedures.
- Anticipate surgeon needs and provide proactive assistance during complex cardiac cases.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with surgeons, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members.
- Use computer systems proficiently for documentation, supply management, and case coordination.
- Maintain and care for cardiovascular surgical equipment ensuring proper function and availability.
- Pursue opportunities to enhance personal and professional growth in cardiovascular surgical technology.
- Support efficient patient throughput and quality outcomes in cardiovascular operating room environment.
- Demonstrate ability to perform work requiring frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications
Required :
Successful completion of Surgical Tech Course or grandfathered by stateSurgical Technician license registered with State of Virginia (required)BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 90 days of employmentKnowledge of medical terminologyBasic computer proficiencyCustomer service abilities including effective listening skillsPhysical ability to perform frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and lifting patients / equipment up to 50 poundsAvailability for day shift (6AM-2 : 30PM or 9AM-5 : 30PM) with rotating weekendsPreferred :
Previous surgical tech experience in cardiovascular or cardiac surgery1-2 years scrub or hospital OR experienceExperience with open heart procedures, cardiac instrumentation, and perfusion coordinationNote : Will consider OR techs with appropriate surgical tech program graduation and Virginia state licensure. CVOR experience strongly preferred but will train qualified OR techs.
