About the Role
The Manager, Technical Education leads the creation and refinement of comprehensive hairdressing curriculum—color, cutting, styling, texture, and barbering—designed to set consistent standards and elevate technical education across all learning channels. This role focuses on building core systems and educational frameworks that can be applied in virtual, digital, in-person, and Academy-based education, ensuring professionals have a clear and structured path for mastering fundamentals.
What You will Do :
- Curriculum Development : Lead the collaborative process to create system-based technical content for haircutting, color, style, texture, barbering, and salon / barber business. Partner with Brand Marketing to ensure technical curriculum is effectively integrated into brand campaigns, product launches, and professional-facing materials — and that brand initiatives are reflected in ongoing technical curriculum updates.
- Academy Application : Adapt and integrate curriculum into Academy programming to support structured learning, workshops, and certifications.
- Learning & Development : Partner with the Digital Learning team to align eLearning curriculum with broader company training initiatives and contribute to course planning and development
- Digital & Virtual Integration : Contributes to the strategy for digital and virtual programming, ensuring foundational curriculum is optimized for multiple delivery formats.
- In-Market Education : Collaborate with education teams to create and maintain curriculum that supports ongoing classes, workshops, and training across markets.
- Content Support : Oversee the creation of manuals, visual guides, assessments, and other resources to ensure consistency in delivery. Collaborate with Brand Marketing to align technical education with marketing tools, assets, and initiatives — ensuring materials resonate with the professional hairdresser audience and remain current.
- Trend Alignment : Participate in trend research and competitive curriculum review, ensuring educational offerings remain current and relevant.
- Quality & Feedback : Monitor learner outcomes and program effectiveness, implementing improvements where needed to strengthen curriculum impact.
- Collaboration : Work closely with subject matter experts, educators, and artistic teams to balance technical precision with creative artistry.

High school diploma or GED required
Current valid Cosmetology license in good standing required
Experience :
5+ years of experience working behind the chair in a salon and / or barber shop
5+ years within professional brand / product education, sales and / or marketing in professional beauty
3+ years’ experience in curriculum or instructional design for technical hairdressing education

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, administration or related field preferredCompetitive Compensation :
The expected base salary range for this position is $80,000 to $90,000 (LA Market) and $70,000 to $80,000 (National).
