Electrician
Performs skilled electrician's work to provide a safe and reliable electrical environment in the plants and booster stations. Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.

- Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures.
- Inspects control panel, junction boxes, and mission control box to check for proper functionality.
- Troubleshoots systems; tests, locates problems, and repairs electrical circuits and equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance in control panels; cleans junction boxes, checks voltage and amperage, and inspects fuses, relays, and wiring connections.
- Repairs and / or replaces equipment as needed.
- Maintains inventory of electrical supplies; prepares reports and maintains records.
- Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
- Performs related work as required.

Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or G.E.D.At least two (2) years of electrical experience.Required Licenses or Certifications
Journeyman Electrician License from the State of Texas is required (Copy of license must be attached to application)Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.As part of the minimum requirements for all positions with the City of Laredo, a thorough background check and certified school transcripts will be required from all applicants who are offered employment.
