Responsibilities Work in a 38-bed IMCU / Cardiac Telemetry unit within an acute care hospital Patient population includes CHF, COPD, renal failure, respiratory failure, alcohol withdrawal, and post-PCI cases Nurse to patient ratios are typically 1 : 3-4 Uses Cerner EMR system GE Apex Telemetry boxes with central telemetry monitoring and 2 Monitor Techs 12-hour day shifts (6 : 45 AM - 7 : 15 PM), with four weekend shifts per four-week schedule Self-scheduling by seniority; shift trades available, schedules posted 3 weeks in advance Required to float to 4West or Med / Surg departments as needed No call or standby requirements First to float during low census Unit is fast-paced and typically operates at full capacity Charge nurse acts as team lead, supported by two break / resource RNs who do not take assignments Two to three unit aides provide additional support per shift No titration of drips required; all protocols are set rate or protocol-driven Pass / fail exam on sterile technique is required during orientation Navy scrubs are required Focus on bedside shift report, patient experience, and HCAHPS measures Holiday shifts will be assigned as per permanent staff rotation and requested RTO may not be guaranteed Traveler-friendly environment open to first-time travelers Requirements Active CA RN license required at the time of consideration At least 2 years of recent experience in telemetry or IMCU setting Current certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and documentation of COVID-19 vaccination Must successfully complete onsite proctored dysrhythmia exam on day one (pass / fail) Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips independently Must provide two professional references : one supervisor from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years Copy of driver’s license required for consideration Cannot have been directly employed by facilities associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health in the past year Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-621072.
