Responsibilities : To support H-E-B Partners, Customers, and third-party stakeholders, our Enterprise Safety Team ensures issuance and administration of safety training, policies, and programs across corporate, industrial, and retail facilities.
Responsibilities
- Implements / sustains policy directives; ensures compliance with regulatory and company standards
- Supports safety and accident prevention programs that ensure a safe place to work and shop
- Provides technical assistance
- Implements / administers hazard controls and related programs
- Maintains training-related records; monitors status of ongoing and completed facility training and OSHA record-keeping
- Recognizes safety opportunities; collaborates on solutions; assists in identifying safety process improvement opportunities
- Assists with projects, as assigned
- Develops close working relationships with facility leaders
- Supports / facilitates safety-related training initiatives
- Assists with training / facilitation of new, existing Partners and leaders on safety activities and responsibilities
- Analyzes incident-related trends; assists with incident investigations to determine root cause(s); evaluates effectiveness of corrective actions
- Assists with comprehensive facility safety and health audits
- Tracks / compiles key internal safety performance metrics and project status; presents to facility leadership
- Consults with Enterprise Safety for incident processing and other safety projects, as needed
Compliance / Auditing
Assists with safety reviews of corporate, industrial, or retail facilities to ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and related local, state, and federal policies, standards, and guidelinesAssists with incident investigation process for work injuries, including OSHA serious injury procedures, specifically for investigation and root cause analysisAssists with regulatory agency auditsWhat is your background?
A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience1+ years of experience related to safetyExperience in retail, industrial, or corporate safety (preferred)Experience related to injury prevention, work injury, liability, safety, and accident prevention programsProfessional Safety certification or equivalent (preferred)Valid Driver's LicenseFit for the role
Familiarity with all regulatory programs related to safety managementVerbal / written communication and presentation skillsAnalytical and critical thinking skillsPC skills, including MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and required company softwareBi-lingual (English - Spanish) skills (preferred)Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between projects / tasksAbility to adapt to new technology, respond effectively to changing conditions, and apply continuous improvement techniques (Plan, Do, Check, Act)Ability to trainSelf-motivated to learn / confidently apply new learningsAbility to work through challenging situations, work collaboratively with all levels of leadershipTravel and work environment
