About this Position

The Computer Specialist I works to advance Oklahoma State University Student Union, University Store, and University Dining Services (UDS) end user computing environment and services. The position is expected to work with moderate supervision and have no direct reports. This position will provide end user support, maintenance, and upgrades for :

• 450+ computers of various type and function.
• 50+ Printers and copiers
• 70 POS terminals.
• Digital Signage

The computer specialist has the responsibility to maintain sufficient knowledge and skills to improve the services being provided as well as keep up with the day-to-day operations of the services. The Computer Specialist I reports to the Sr. Systems Administrator. All other duties as assigned.

May require some nights and weekends as needed to update system and provide support during peak periods.

Required Qualifications

High School / GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date) Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience OR

High school and six years related experience with requirement to receive bachelor’s degree within six years of hire

Certifications, Registrations, and / or Licenses :

A+ Certification within 90 days.

Skills, Proficiencies, and / or Knowledge :

Working Knowledge of setting up and maintaining computer systems and servers, including configuration.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's

MIS, Computer Science or related field

One year of related experience.

Skills, Proficiencies, and / or Knowledge :

CompTIA and Microsoft certifications preferred
