Construction Estimator duties and responsibilities
- Obtain and review documentation to understand project requirements thoroughly.
- Select, measure, and track key metrics.
- Visit sites, warehouses, and other venues necessary for estimating.
- Perform complex data analysis and metrics evaluation.
- Prepare accurate and reliable forecasts.
- Conduct detailed risk analysis activities.
- Create and present reports to upper management.
- Analyze and evaluate offers.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors.
- Manage buyout of subcontracts after project award.
Construction Estimator requirements
At least 5 years of experience as a construction estimator.GB98 contractor's license is required.In-depth knowledge of project management.Hands-on experience with complex data research activities.Good understanding of data analysis methods and KPIs.Familiarity with computer programs such as Timberline or ProContractor by Viewpoint.Familiarity with RS Means.Good time-management skills and ability to multitask.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Critical thinker and problem solver.Extremely proficient in pre-construction processes.Ability to budget with partial plans or concept drawings.Proficient in on-screen takeoff.Ability to write detailed scope sheets for subcontractors.Understanding of federal solicitations.Ability to produce technical and price responses to RFPs.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction science, or a related field.GB98 contractor's license is required.Matos Builders is an equal opportunity employer.
