The Implementation Portfolio Lead is part of the Global Protect Oceans, Lands, and Waters business unit and porvides leadership with the development and implementation of the portfolio of closed projects in TNC's Nature Bonds and Project Finance for Permanence (PFP) programs to achieve durable and impactful conservation outcomes. These are two of TNC's most impactful solutions, supporting the use of innovative financial mechanisms and donor support to create long-term sustainable financing for nature protection and improved management, sustainable economic development, and climate change mitigation and adaptation.
The Implementation Portfolio Lead is responsible for the development and execution of the implementation models and the strategic oversight, support, and coordination, as applicable, of the wider implementation team, which is comprised of Conservation Trust Funds (CTF), Safeguards, Compliance, Legal, Conservation, Climate, and MEL experts. In this role, the Implementation Portfolio Lead provides strategic oversight to capacity development and transfer in projects under implementation, focusing on strong collaboration with TNC's regional and country teams. This role will also drive risk assessments, tracking, reporting, and documentation of the portfolio of projects in implementation, and coordinate the capacity, budget, and operations across a matrixed team to ensure the success of Nature Bonds and PFP projects.
The Implementation Portfolio Lead serves as a key liaison between the different teams and Business Units involved in project implementation, as well as external actors, when applicable. In collaboration with the different teams (i.e., country teams, global conservation experts, Compliance team, finance specialists, CTF Advisors, Knowledge Manager, and legal team), they track and document various aspects of projects under implementation, including conservation achievements, reports, compliance, lessons learned, and best practices, among others. They also oversee the development of monitoring, evaluation, and reporting frameworks, which include supervising a MEL Specialist, managing the report validation process, and lead or support internal and external reporting efforts to track program performance. They advise TNC communications, marketing, and philanthropy staff on matters related to the projects under implementation and related issues and help ensure that TNC's internal and external communications accurately reflect the strategy, conservation goals, and impact.
The location for this position is negotiable within countries where there is an existing TNC office. No relocation or immigration assistance is offered with this position. May involve domestic and international travel.

Salary Information :
This position may be based in any country where TNC has an established entity, taking into consideration legal restrictions, such as non-national ratios and immigration processing times. For U.S. based applicants only, the starting pay range for this position is generally within the range of $100,000 - $145,000 for annual base salary and is based on location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. For all other applicants, pay ranges will be in local currency, the pay range will be based on the local labor market, and not tied to the above pay range. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment and used to determine your actual pay range. Additionally, for all applicants, actual pay will fall within a range based on a variety of factors including, for example, the candidate's qualifications, specific skills, and experience.
