Senior Accountant

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our client on a contract basis in San Ramon, California. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our year-end financial close and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a manufacturing environment and contribute to key financial processes.

Responsibilities :

• Reconcile all balance sheet accounts accurately and within established deadlines.
• Oversee the restructuring of the Chart of Accounts by renaming, renumbering, and consolidating account categories to align with operational and reporting standards.
• Ensure prepaid and deferral accounts are reconciled, adjustments are completed, and schedules are established for future reporting periods.
• Review and reconcile General Ledger accounts related to instrument leases and loaners, and provide guidance and training to the team as needed.
• Conduct a thorough year-end expenditure review to ensure accurate posting and compliance with accounting regulations.
• Audit 1099 vendor statements, prepare necessary documentation, and manage the filing process for the current tax year.
• Collaborate with the Manufacturing Manager to clean up and reconcile inventory records, ensuring accurate alignment with QuickBooks.
• Review and verify the accuracy of inventory item setups and ensure proper organization within the accounting system.
• Support the preparation of financial statements and reports for year-end close.
• Assist with other ad hoc accounting tasks as required to meet organizational goals.
