3D Creature Artist Job at Epoch Games in Winston-Salem

Job Description

In this volunteer position, we are looking for someone who specializes in creating 3D realistic creatures with fantastical and heraldic touches for "The Lays of Althas : Sundered Order" (LoA : SO). Responsibilities include Mesh Sculpting, Texturing, and Fur / Hair Card experience. The creatures will be seen alongside realistic human characters. Rigging and Skinning experience is helpful but not required. Communication is essential for a smooth pipeline. English fluency is a must as we are an English-speaking team. Teaching skills are beneficial for aiding junior team members. Other duties include following team policies and attending meetings via Slack.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

• Creating realistic creature meshes and textures
• Creating fur sculpts using Hair Card and Alpha Planes
• Physically-based Rendering (PBR) experience for game sculpting
• Previous experience with low-poly / game-ready assets
• Full Texturing ability (Diffuse, Normal, Displacement, etc.)
• Working from pre-defined concept art and designs
• Providing constructive criticism and feedback
• Communication and Team-collaboration skills
• Passion for modeling and dedication to creating AAA quality games
