Job Title : Senior Electrical Engineer
Location : Burnsville and / or Faribault, MN

Responsibilities
- Design and provide electrical engineering expertise for custom power distribution equipment following UL 1008, UL 508, UL 891, and UL 1558 standards.
- Support and lead the custom quoting and order process, ensuring technical feasibility and compliance with listings, code, and customer specifications.
- Provide electrical engineering input across Trystar products to ensure custom designs are manufacturable and aligned with best practices.
- Refine and document quoting processes to improve efficiency and reduce engineering cycle time for custom orders.
- Collaborate with Sales, Applications, Engineering, and Manufacturing to bridge customer requirements with practical solutions.
- Identify common customizations and streamline configurations to improve quoting speed and accuracy.
- Mentor engineers and sales team members to improve internal understanding of complex power distribution solutions.
- Continuously improve processes to reduce rework and improve order accuracy.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent7+ years of experience in electrical system design, power distribution, and quoting and order support for custom-engineered productsProficiency with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, EPlan, or similarAbility to interpret customer specifications and site requirements to create accurate electrical solutionsExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to balance customer customization with standardizationExperience defining electrical specifications and component selection for power distribution offerings (switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, load banks, generators)Experience creating detailed technical product documentation to support manufacturing, testing, certification, and customer requestsAbility to specify safe and effective testing practices for powered prototype testingStrong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teamsAttention to detail and commitment to design accuracyCuriosity and initiative to explore new technologies and continuously improve designsUnderstanding of electrical design best practices, including safety, manufacturability, and compliance with codesAbility to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement in engineering workflowsStrong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAdditional Qualifications
