This position offers an exciting opportunity to teach a high school science caseload in an urban environment, helping students build critical thinking skills and scientific literacy.

Position Overview

The Science Teacher will design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction, create meaningful lesson plans, and maintain a classroom environment that promotes learning and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have strong classroom and behavioral management skills and experience working in an urban school setting.

Key Responsibilities

Teach a high school science caseload with mastery of subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials

Create lesson plans aligned with Pennsylvania state and district standards

Drive instruction through formative assessment and differentiated strategies

Maintain strong classroom and behavioral management

Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and instruction

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance

Ensure compliance with district policies and state regulations

Qualifications

Active Pennsylvania teaching certification in Science ( or eligibility for emergency teaching permit )

Bachelors degree required for emergency teaching permit

School-based teaching experience required

Strong classroom and behavioral management skills

Experience working in an urban setting

Comfort and familiarity with the district and location

Ability to complete all required Pennsylvania clearances
