Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Deaf / Hard of Hearing (DHH) teacher position is available for the 2025-2026 school year in Irving, TX, serving a K-12 student population. This itinerant role supports seven intermediate schools by providing specialized pull-out services to students with hearing impairments. The contract position begins as soon as possible, with a tentative start date of June 11, 2026, and is onsite only.
Key responsibilities include delivering direct instruction tailored to students needs, training students on their assistive hearing equipment, advocating for appropriate acmodations, and collaborating with general education teachers to ensure effective implementation of modifications. The teacher will also participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings, contribute to evaluations, and support Individualized Education Program (IEP) development to secure necessary services. From November through March, this role will provide full-time coverage for an elementary campus DHH position during a maternity leave absence.
