Supporting Enterprise Visual Communications Graphics and Hardware Category Management
Responsibilities :
Developing and maintaining purchasing of enterprise-level product line categories for the Orbus Visual Communications group, with high concentration on graphics (fabrics, paper, media, printing, inks, finishing) and hardware (metals, wood, lighting, assembly) categories.
Skills / Qualifications :
- Managing category-level strategy for multiple product lines and aligning all Orbus facilities requirements to industry and market trends
- Developing and controlling purchasing strategy; supporting inventory and production efficiency
- Negotiating supply contracts and payment options; developing strong partnerships for supplies and services
- Rationalizing domestic versus international sourced goods; working with mixed logistics models for materials
- Maintaining records and reporting on continuous improvement of service level
- Focusing on improved forecast methods; collaborating with forecast manager to improve inventory planning and turns for the enterprise
- Knowledge of visual communication, graphics, or display category commodities a plus
Strategic Planning / Development :
Support product development; research and develop new suppliers for the enterprisePlan quarterly communications (S&OP) with leadership to collaborate and plan supply and R&D solutionsWork to refine ERP system to develop better visibility, forecasts, and category spend managementAnalyze all available data; own regular meetings with operations management to review COGS, usage, waste, best practices, supply issues, and QA / QC to improve bottom line resultsMaintain daily, monthly, and quarterly KPIsDrive Lean methodologies, ISO standards, and social compliance; efficiency improvements and elimination of wasteDevelopment :
Responsible for one’s performance, continuously developing opportunities for improvementWork with Director of Procurement and Directors of Production to develop and maintain department needsRecognize when team members require further training & determine action plan for improvementCross-train and support enterprise locations, departments, companiesQualifications / Requirements :
7-10 years’ experience working in a fast-paced procurement / purchasing role, or equivalent knowledge, in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of managing business using an ERP systemDegree in Business or Supply Chain Management, or relevant work experienceMust be able to multi-task and communicate effectively to meet internal and external customer needsDisciplined self-starter with effective teamwork and communication skillsTravel overseas and domestically, when requiredStrong negotiation skills, contract administration, and ability to build solid partnerships with suppliersDemonstrated use and solid knowledge of Lean methodologyKnowledge of ISO and social compliance initiativesSolid knowledge of Microsoft OfficeAttention to detail & ability to work in a fast-paced environment; demonstrates excellent, professional job performance in productivity, efficiency, cost-management
