The City of Wylie Police Department is seeking certified peace officers. The selected applicants will patrol and provide enforcement, detection and crime prevention under the laws of the City of Wylie, State of Texas, and the United States. The selected applicants will carry out special assignments in the field of law enforcement and perform related work as required. Selected applicants will provide reports of assignments and / or related work as needed. Supervision is provided by the Police Sergeant. • 1 Year — Step 0 : $80,840.00
• 2 Years — Step 1 : $84,073.60
• 3 Years — Step 2 : $87,436.54
• 4 Years — Step 3 : $90,934.01
• 5 Years — Step 4 : $94,571.34
• 6 Years — Step 5 : $98,354.22
• 7 Years — Step 6 : $102,288.39
• 8 Years — Step 7 : $106,379.93

Responsibilities

High School Diploma or equivalent. TCOLE certified Peace Officer. Valid Driver's License without restriction except "A". Must have Texas Driver's License within 30 days of hire. Citizen of the United States, 21 years of age, clear driving record, no felony convictions. Completion of National Incident Management System (NIMS) training courses as outlined by Emergency Management after hire.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH REQUIRED : Very high : exerting over 100 pounds occasionally, 50-100 pounds frequently and / or 20-50 pounds constantly. Requires walking, sitting, running and / or standing to a significant degree. Position requires that no visible tattoos be present.
