Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
We are looking for an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join our team with a focus on medication assisted treatment! The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is responsible for performing independent nursing interventions emphasizing health promotion and the management of acute and chronic mental illness. You will execute process and document medical treatments and assessments, practice autonomously and in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patient's health care problems. Note - this is an on-site opportunity.
YOU'LL DO :
- Serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant and client advocate
- Ensure the highest quality of nursing services, promoting optimum client care and the overall mission and objectives of the organization
- Provides diagnostic, prescription pharmacological treatments and non-pharmacological therapies
- Synthesizes collected data to formulate clinical decisions regarding diagnosis, interventions and outcomes for patients
- Provides direct services to patients including education regarding medication and monitoring of medications and lab work
- Orders lab work and processes / reviews lab reports
- Demonstrates expertise in the interpretation of bio-psycho-social data regarding patient status and assumes accountability for delegated interventions.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED :
Master's or Doctorate Degree from an accredited programLicensure as a registered nurse and licensed as an advanced registered nurse practitioner as required by the state of Iowa.Certified as a clinical specialist / NP by ANCC or other accepted certifying body as defined by the Nurse Practice Act in Iowa.Minimum three years related clinical experience preferred.Knowledge of the involuntary hospitalization laws pertaining to mental impairment and substance abuse, working knowledge of managed care concepts and practices.Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred.
