Overview
Kelly Engineering is seeking a Quality Engineer for a contract position at a manufacturing client in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico
Summary : Assure compliance with the quality management system, policies and procedures; provide support to manufacturing operations and assure compliance with product specifications and regulatory standards; and collaborate with operations, engineering and customer representatives in problem solving related to product quality.
Responsibilities
- Assure compliance with the quality management system, policies and procedures.
- Provide support to manufacturing operations and assure compliance with product specifications and regulatory standards.
- Act as liaison with other departments (operations, engineering) and customer representatives in problem solving analysis involving product quality.
- Establish mechanisms to evaluate and measure quality, investigate material discrepancies, and report non-conformances.
- Support and participate in internal / external auditing activities.
- Provide guidance to inspectors on workmanship standards.
- Prepare and implement quality programs associated with contract requirements or as directed by management.
- Develop proactive quality initiative strategies and drive their implementation.
- Perform and follow escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions for design problems for internally produced products and processes.
- Recommend product engineering changes to address quality issues raised by customers.
- Responsible for both Program and Product Quality Engineering.
- Review procedures and metrics that impact quality and make recommendations to improve compliance with internal standards.
Requirements
BS degree in Engineering with 3+ years' experience in Quality Engineer position.Effective communication and presentation skills in English and Spanish (verbal and written).U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program / contract.Experience using computer applications; working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.Knowledge or experience in a Quality-facing role.Experience in a multi-responsibility organization.IPC electronic assembly standards knowledge (preferred).Lean Six Sigma (preferred).Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and / or technical instructions.Benefits and Additional Information
