Quality Engineer

Overview

Kelly Engineering is seeking a Quality Engineer for a contract position at a manufacturing client in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico

Summary : Assure compliance with the quality management system, policies and procedures; provide support to manufacturing operations and assure compliance with product specifications and regulatory standards; and collaborate with operations, engineering and customer representatives in problem solving related to product quality.

Responsibilities

• Assure compliance with the quality management system, policies and procedures.
• Provide support to manufacturing operations and assure compliance with product specifications and regulatory standards.
• Act as liaison with other departments (operations, engineering) and customer representatives in problem solving analysis involving product quality.
• Establish mechanisms to evaluate and measure quality, investigate material discrepancies, and report non-conformances.
• Support and participate in internal / external auditing activities.
• Provide guidance to inspectors on workmanship standards.
• Prepare and implement quality programs associated with contract requirements or as directed by management.
• Develop proactive quality initiative strategies and drive their implementation.
• Perform and follow escape management procedures, root cause analysis, and recommend corrective actions for design problems for internally produced products and processes.
• Recommend product engineering changes to address quality issues raised by customers.
• Responsible for both Program and Product Quality Engineering.
• Review procedures and metrics that impact quality and make recommendations to improve compliance with internal standards.
