Lumen Sr. Logistics Management Specialist-Public Sector
As a Lumen Sr. Logistics Management Specialist-Public Sector, you will perform fulfillment activities associated with picking, packing, and shipping daily. Manage all equipment and supplies inventory as needed for item and order packing. Perform all transactions in the warehouse management system. Aptitude to master and perform all functional and systems tasks related to receipts, returns, repair, outbound, and cycle counts, and be well-versed in end-to-end warehouse operations. Skill to train employees and new hires on systems and processes when required and operate as an informal lead on the warehouse floor, directing efficient material flow. Ability to operate as the backup to the warehouse manager when absent. Maintain established productivity standards utilizing metrics to monitor progress in all assigned duties. This role will support several legacy government contracts within the federal space, to include future government contracts. The role will play a vital part of contract and mission success and have direct impact on customer operations.
The Main Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include :
- Load and unload materials as required, confirming shipments against load Bill of Lading. Open crates, boxes, cartons, and other containers and validate part numbers, quantities, and serial numbers against material pack list. Perform material receipt transactions in SAP system to close open receipt line and show material received in the warehouse. Store received material in storage location and complete SAP system transaction confirming material is stored in an assigned storage location. Identify exceptions such as shipping errors from vendors, and initiate exception process.
- Pick orders from daily requisitions and complete SAP system transactions confirming parts, quantities, and serial numbers being removed from on-hand inventory. Verify, pack, and create associated shipment documents and ship orders utilizing UPS WorldShip for parcel shipments or freight carriers LTL shipments. This requires continuously monitoring the queue in the system and occasionally working exceptions through the process.
- Perform daily cycle counts and inventory reconciliations matching physical inventory counts to SAP on-hand balances. Review and investigate system variances via SAP transactional history research and make appropriate system corrections / updates to sync SAP inventory balances. Restock / replenish inventory stocking and forward picking locations including warehouse restack and product relocations. Perform all inventory bin transfers and transactional updates in SAP system to complete material movement to final location.
- Receive RMA, de-install, and field returns. Validate part, quantity, and serial number against return paperwork and process receipt transaction in the Equipment Return Tool and SAP systems using the determination from the tool to properly receive into Stock, Spares, Excess, or Recycle. Determine and diagnose item or serial number issues and errors impacting system receipt and processing and use notification tool to record and communicate existing issues. Review SAP item transactional history to apply corrective actions or request additional assistance.
- Identify and work through exceptions, including system issues, data inconsistencies, and other issues that may come up. This requires interacting with others in the team and with other departments as appropriate.
- Train new employees, help other associates troubleshoot issueswhether system or process-related.
- Perform periodic on-call after-hours shipment requests. Required to lookup requested items in SAP systems and perform necessary system / order transactions to correctly remove items for shipment. Perform customer service activities including written and verbal communication to resolve customer issues and requests such as order disposition, expedited shipping, freight / parcel issues.
- Analyze and coordinate the logistical warehouse functions of the organization, including purchasing, shipping, receiving, inventory, and storage.
- Manage the entire life cycle of a product, including acquisition, distribution, internal allocation, delivery, and final disposal.
- Oversee and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.

- Direct, optimize, and coordinate the full order cycle.
- Liaise and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers.
