The salary range for this position depends on experience level ranging from $114,00 to $142,916.
Job Summary
The Lead Analyst – Capital Project Management is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and financial oversight of capital projects. This role provides analytical support to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives. The lead analyst collaborates with project managers, finance teams, and operational stakeholders to monitor performance, forecast costs, and identify risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and manages O&M budget for all operating companies within Gas D&D.
- Compile and tracks Capital overhead pool budgets within Gas D&D.
- Planning, compiling, auditing, and distributing performance and metrics to the Avangrid Regulatory group for Gas Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP).
- Develop and maintain project cost forecasts and variance analyses.
- Rate case support including data preparation, analysis, compliance and auditing.
- Review weekly and monthly accruals of contractor hours, rates, and roles.
- Support Capital Major Project budget development and funding requests.
- Major Project purchasing support including Purchase Order and Work Order reports.
- Ability to diagnose and implement solutions for issues that transcend daily responsibilities of the Gas Design & Delivery with Sr. Director and Managers.
- Identify and escalate risks or delays impacting cost or timeline.
- Participate in project review meetings and provide analytical insights.
- Support cross-functional initiatives to improve capital project processes.
- Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and cost control procedures.
- Contribute to the development of standardized tools and templates.
- Track and report capital expenditures across multiple projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field with 8 or more years of experience in project analysis, financial planning, or capital project support.Associate's degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, or related field with 10 or more years of experience in project analysis, financial planning, or capital project support.High School Diploma / GED with 12+ years of experience in project analysis, financial planning, or capital project support.Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).Knowledge of capital budgeting, cost control, and project lifecycle management.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Experience in gas utility or energy sector projects.Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).Experience with project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).Professional certification such as CMA, PMP, CAPM or equivalent is a plus.Competencies
