Position Summary
Come help create BoujieMana, a brand-new restaurant located in central San Diego! Sitting amongst apartments and office buildings, we will serve both the public, and provide support to TCWGlobal by preparing meals (basic catering style) 3 times a week for 125+ employees. BoujieMana has it all—a full bar, VIP room, indoor and outdoor seating, and a training / event center with a capacity of 120 people. There is abundant nighttime and weekend parking, and while space is limited during office hours, there is still plenty of street parking. The price point will be on the higher end with the restaurant’s commitment to utilizing quality ingredients and maintaining a curated menu for all three meals of the day.
We are looking for a personable, organized Server who will be responsible for taking orders from, and serving food to, our guests. This individual will provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience. Server responsibilities include ensuring tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus, taking food and beverage orders, serving food and beverages, and collecting payments. This individual will need to have a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure, partnering with bussers, cooks, and other staff to ensure seamless service. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time, they will want to return to BoujieMana time and time again.

Key Responsibilities
Primary :
Promote, work, and act in a manner consistent with the mission of BoujiemanaPresent menus to guests and answer questions about menu items, beverages, and other restaurant functions and servicesMonitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service and respond promptly and courteously to correct any problemsTake food or beverages orders from guestsExplain to guests how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methodsInform guests of menu changes and daily specials and make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoyWrite guests’ food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staffGarnish and decorate dishes in preparation for servingServe food or beverages to guests and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as requiredPrepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for guests, and chill bottles of wineDescribe and recommend wines to guestsCheck guests’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beveragesBring wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses and pour the wine for guestsPerform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning desserts, and brewing coffeeRemove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to kitchen for cleaningPrepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxesCollect payments from guestsThank guests for their visit and invite them to returnClean tables or counters after guests have finished diningAssist the host or hostess by answering phones to take reservations or to-go orders, and by greeting, seating, and thanking guestsRoll silverware, set up food stations or set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift or for large partiesStock service areas with supplies such as coffee, food, tableware, and linensPrepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glasswarePerform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpet, tidying up server station, taking out trash, or checking and cleaning bathroomFill salt, pepper, sugar, cream, condiments, and napkin containersAttend all scheduled employee meetings and offer suggestions for improvementCoordinate with, and assist, fellow employees to meet guests’ needs and support the operation of the restaurantFill-in for fellow employees where needed to ensure guest service standards and efficient operationsSupplemental :
