Summary
Leads end-to-end supply chain operations to ensure the timely, cost-effective delivery of products. Manages demand planning, procurement, inventory control, supplier relationships, and logistics. Partners cross-functionally with Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, and Operations teams to support NBS Next initiatives and drive operational excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Directs materials planning for made and purchased items based on production demand. Includes use of MRD, as well as MRP planning.to determine appropriate target stock levels.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with MSS strategic objectives business goals.
- Oversees the preparation and processing of purchase orders and requisitions for materials, supplies, and equipment with delivery schedules aligned to production requirements
- Directs inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage, including warehouse layout & organization.
- Directs the raising of production work orders as required in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintains inventory levels to support production & customer requirement dates, including regular review of target stock levels and establishes appropriate Kanban systems to manage inventory.
- Establish criteria and monitor the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
- Leads a strategic sourcing approach that identifies cost savings through implementation of enhanced buying strategies such as outsourcing elements of manufacturing and VMI.
- Performs analysis and write-offs on damaged, slow-moving or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory.
- Negotiates prices and contracts for raw materials and production supplies and determine delivery with suppliers, vendors, and / or shipping companies.
- Lead the SIOP process, facilitate strategic reviews, and present updates to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.
- Oversee critical KPIs (OTD, DSI, Kanban Health, Capacity / Throughput, and Order Entry vs. Sales) with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Develops and executes projects based on order entry vs. sales to improve forecasting for incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Takes the lead for supply chain-related business process improvements and JDE ERP software enhancement opportunities.
- Assesses the need for material-handling equipment; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
- Participates as an advisory member of the product development team, providing information and guidance on availability and cost of supplies and materials.
- Acts as part of the team coordinating engineering changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions.
- Work closely with sales and business development to communicate backorders or production delays and coordinate ramp-up for new sales opportunities.
- Ability to apply, lead and coach other in the foundations of NBS Next to achieve profitable growth through Operational Excellence.
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience managing a supply chain team.Experience in sourcing, supplier development, and lean manufacturing preferred.Preferred Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and supplier performance management.Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at all levels of the organization.Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to evaluate complex cost models.Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement analytics tools.Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.#LI-AB1
