Responsibilities

Job Summary :

Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other\ninvasive procedures.

Responsibilities :

Perform scrub functions including the selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.\nPerform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.\nDirectly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound\nexposure as well as patient positioning.\nPrepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.\nContribute to Mission effectiveness by promoting the spirit embodied with the Mission Statement : \nA. Service to the poor - Support the cause of those who lack resources for a reasonable quality of\nlife.\nB. Reverence - Respect and compassion for the dignity and diversity of life.\nC. All\nother duties as assigned.\nProvide direct and indirect patient care through the application of the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating care rendered. Care provided will address physical and psychosocial needs of the patient and his / her family.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration : \nBLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.\nOne or more of the following required :

Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing OR current home state license for multi-state license recognition 'Compact State' obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education : \nDiploma from an accredited school / college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of\nhire.
