About the Homeschool Enrichment Program
The STEAD School's Homeschool Enrichment Program gives elementary students flexible, part-time access to hands-on learning experiences in a community where homeschoolers belong and thrive. The program offers access to expert-led learning, lab-based science opportunities, creative arts, and immersive field experiences designed to spark curiosity and build real-world skills on a schedule that works for homeschool families.
Our From Soil to Table enrichment course is part of this vision-blending greenhouse and farm production, culinary arts, animal science, financial literacy, and creative expression into a joyful learning experience. Students don't just read about agriculture and food systems; they plant, grow, cook, create, and showcase their learning in meaningful ways.
Guides in this program are more than instructors-they are mentors and facilitators who design engaging, hands-on learning experiences, support student exploration, and build connections that make learning come alive.
Position Summary
The Homeschool Guide will co-crete, lead, and refine an innovative From Soil to Table enrichment program for elementary learners (~110 instructional hours / semester in the fall and spring semesters). This role integrates agricultural science, culinary arts, animal care, financial literacy, and creative expression into a holistic curriculum that helps students experience the journey of food from seed to plate. The Guide will facilitate instruction, coordinate field trips, foster connections between the student, parent, and school, and evolve the curriculum to ensure meaningful, hands-on, and joyful learning.
