Systems Administrator at Apex Systems
Location : Frankfort, KY (Hybrid : 1-2 days onsite per week). Duration : 6+ months. Hourly Rate : 40-47 / HR.
Overview
This position is part of the System Center Team under the Enterprise Operations and Monitoring branch. The primary responsibility is to provide in-depth troubleshooting and diagnosis for issues, working with other groups and agencies within the Executive Branch. The role will utilize Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and Dynatrace to monitor the client environment, which includes over 160 applications and 500+ servers in Dynatrace and additional systems in SCOM. Responsibilities also involve ITSM platform activities with ServiceNow and interaction with ITOM and CMDB Service Mapping to develop relationships between applications and the IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise in the design, configuration, and implementation of monitoring and CMDB-related activities within the current environment.
- Enterprise-level monitoring including advanced troubleshooting with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Dynatrace.
- Maintain and mature the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and Discovery configurations.
- Identify and correct issues related to Configuration Management, Discovery and Service Mapping, including CI identification, reconciliation, normalization, ownership, and relationships.
- Develop CMDB configuration reports and dashboards.
- Provide configuration support to Hardware and Software Asset Management as it relates to ITOM functionality.
- Support requirements gathering sessions and user story development; collaborate with developers to ensure quality and design of functional capabilities.
- Research and evaluate technical solutions to make informed recommendations based on customer requirements and statements of work.
- Participate in product roadmap planning.
Requirements
Minimum of 5 years of IT experience.Experience in enterprise monitoring and advanced troubleshooting of complex environments / applications.Experience with Microsoft System Center Operations Manager and Dynatrace for enterprise-level monitoring.Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, JavaScript, and Python.Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.Effective troubleshooting skills across data center infrastructure components – network, F5, operating systems, SAN, virtualization.Excellent communication skills for timely updates on issues and projects.Preferred Qualifications
Dynatrace knowledge.Certified ServiceNow Implementation Specialist - Discovery.Certified ServiceNow Systems Administrator.Minimum of 3 years of ServiceNow configuration experience.EEO Notice
