Founded in 1982, Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care is an independent, nonprofit healthcare provider licensed in 11 counties in northwest Illinois. They provide exceptional serious illness care, hospice care and grief support for adults and children. While Lightways primarily provides care in the home, nursing facilities and assisted living facilities, it also owns a 24-bed inpatient facility located at its corporate campus in Joliet.
Lightways employs 250 staff and runs a hospice ADC of more than 450 patients and a palliative care census of 500. The Role -
Lightways is seeking an experienced and accomplished healthcare executive to assume the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this position, you will be responsible for leading, directing, and coordinating all clinical programs and operations within the organization. You will also ensure that the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems are in place to effectively grow the organization.
As the COO, you will play a crucial role in promoting Lightways’ culture, mission and values that emphasize Quality Patient Care , Say Yes, Compassion, Accountability, and Collaboration among all team members. Your focus will be on program development, such as palliative, quality and compliance, and working closely with the CEO on its short and long-term plans for Lightways’ continued growth and evolution. It will be your responsibility to guarantee that the organization consistently meets or exceeds quality standards, budget, and profitability expectations.
You will collaborate directly with the CEO and other members of the Executive Management Team to develop strategic analyses for business opportunities and growth. Additionally, you will assess existing operational systems for efficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
