Position Summary

As a Senior Data Engineer at Redwood Trust , you will play a key role in designing and modernizing our data systems, driving innovation in data integration, performance tuning, and cloud architecture. You’ll be a catalyst for elevating team capability, leading the assessment and improvement of existing platforms, and setting a high bar for database development practices. Working within a collaborative scrum team, you’ll apply your deep Azure expertise and leadership skills to craft robust, scalable, and future-ready data solutions.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Solution Architecture & Design

Lead the design and implementation of scalable, cloud-native data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, and Microsoft Fabric.

Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL / ELT pipelines.

Mentor junior and mid-level developers; provide code reviews, design guidance, and upskilling support.

Support production systems, proactively identify data and performance issues, and drive resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

A reasonable estimate of the total compensation range for this role is $135,000-$165,000. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
