The Atlanta Community Food Bank is working to end hunger in our community with the food, people and big ideas needed so that no one worries where their next meal is coming from. Since 1979, we’ve been providing food for a growing network of nonprofit partners – including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, night shelters and senior centers. We currently serve more than 700 partners in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.

About the Role :
Procurement Specialist II is charged with acquiring new food sources via donations and purchasing and cultivating relationships in the Atlanta Community Food Bank’s 29 county service area. The Procurement Specialist II reports to and collaborates with the Senior Manager, Procurement and then executes plans to reach annual product poundage goals both locally and nationally. The successful individual will also work with other team members to acquire other food-sourcing opportunities.
What You’ll Do :
Source, Purchase, and Manage Food Inventory :
- Proactively identify and engage new food donors and vendors across manufacturing, distribution, and retail channels to secure consistent inventory.

Oversee the full procurement process for donated and purchased products, ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and timely delivery.Manage purchasing within established budgets, monitor inventory levels, and maintain USDA partnership requirements.Coordinate large-scale food donations and special events (e.g., Gleans, Food Shows) to maximize community impact.Track, analyze, and report on procurement data to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational goals.Build and Support Partnerships :
Build and maintain positive relationships with donors, vendors, and community partners.Communicate regularly to confirm orders, coordinate deliveries, and address any product issues.Work closely with internal stakeholders to keep food moving smoothly.Stay up to date on food sourcing practices and share information that supports team goals.Represent the Food Bank in a professional, friendly way during vendor visits or community events.Key Competencies we look for in All our Food Bankers are :

Proven track record of success in sales, purchasing, and customer service, with a results-driven approach.Strong history of building and maintaining relationships, including effectively communicating with key stakeholders both verbally and in writing—particularly in prospecting and making the “ask”.Demonstrated ability to solve problems and utilize data to track performance, inform decisions, and make strategic recommendations.Proficient in computer skills, including :Excel – Creating spreadsheets to analyze data, tell a story, and support decision-making.PowerPoint – Designing clear and compelling presentations.NetSuite and CRM Systems – Familiarity with utilizing NetSuite CRM software for relationship and data management, preferred.Microsoft SuiteThere may be some Physical Demands and Travel :
