Lad Lake Synergy School partners with Milwaukee Public Schools to serve students reassigned for behavioral infractions. Our unique model welcomes students throughout the year, offering a structured, trauma-sensitive environment built on trust, belonging, and growth. At Synergy, every semester brings new opportunities—for students and educators—to reset, learn, and lead.
As a teacher at Lad Lake Synergy School, you'll deliver education that meets students where they are—academically, emotionally, and behaviorally. You'll craft lesson plans aligned to MPS curriculum while leveraging trauma-informed practices, cultural relevance, and restorative approaches. You'll work alongside a committed team to support youth in their return to a successful educational path.
What a Day in the Life of an ELA Teacher Looks Like :
- Design and deliver individualized and group instruction rooted in the MPS curriculum
- Create a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom climate
- Develop and maintain student education plans with interdisciplinary input
- Communicate regularly with students, families, and staff to support achievement
- Maintain accurate academic records and evaluations
- Actively participate in staff meetings, training, and continuous improvement efforts
- Support all students with care, consistency, and high expectations.
What You Bring to the Table :
Bachelor's degree and valid Wisconsin teaching certificate2–3 years of experience with EBD or at-risk youth preferredSkilled in classroom behavior management and culturally responsive teachingAdaptable, organized, and confident in a dynamic school environmentPassionate about equity, growth, and student-centered learningKnowledge of trauma-informed education and a passion for student development.Ability to communicate effectively, manage time well, and demonstrate sound judgment.Culturally competent and committed to equity in education.What We Bring to the Table :
