American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a WA or compact RN license, high-acuity L&D skills, and EPIC documentation experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a large hospital Birth Center with 15 labor rooms, 12 antepartum rooms, 4 OB ED rooms, and 3 ORsServe a high-acuity labor and delivery population including hypertension, preterm labor, C-sections, multiple births, and postpartum hemorrhageUp to 300 deliveries per month with a 33% C-section rateTypical patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines : 1 : 1 for active labor, 1 : 2 non-active laboring, 1 : 2-3 antepartum as acuity requiresFrequent use of Epic EMR, Centricity / Qx fetal surveillance, Alaris CareFusion pumps, Pyxis, CAD Solaris epidural pumps, and Panda WarmersScheduled for 12-hour night shifts with a weekend rotation and no mandatory call requirementsFloating may occur to antepartum and postpartum areas based on scope and experience, except for Assistant Nurse ManagersComprehensive team support includes CNAs, LPN / NRP-certified scrub techs, free-floating charge nurses, HUC / receptionists, phlebotomy, respiratory therapists, laborists, residents, and anesthesiaPrecepted orientation provided, including hospital orientation plus 2 weeks on the unit and 1 week independentlyTraditional orientation includes one day NEO, two days on unit, and a cardiac rhythm interpretation examIncidental days off (24-48 hours) must be discussed with managementHoliday coverage is required and distributed fairly among staffScrubs are provided and must be worn only inside the facilityFree designated parking is available on siteFirst-time travelers will be considered upon review\n \n Requirements\n
Active WA or compact state RN license requiredMinimum 2 years of recent L&D experience with previous travel assignments; 5+ years preferredCurrent BLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certifications requiredDemonstrated skill in high-acuity labor management, OB triage, OR circulation, cervical checks, and fetal strip interpretationEPIC EMR experience requiredAbility to perform as second hands for recovery of newborns when needed\n Benefits\n
