About the Role
Seeking a skilled Technical Proposal Writer with 3-5 years of experience in federal government proposals. This mid-level remote role requires residency in the Washington D.C., Metro area for occasional collaboration. The ideal candidate will excel at interpreting complex federal solicitations and crafting compliant, persuasive proposal responses that support high-impact federal programs. NOTE : This position initially starts as part-time (1-2 proposals per month) and will transition to full-time within the first few months of employment (3-6 months).
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as primary contact for compiling and finalizing federal proposal documents.
- Review and interpret RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs to understand solicitation requirements and objectives.
- Collaborate with proposal managers, capture managers, business development, and SMEs to develop proposal content.
- Draft and edit technical and management volumes, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
- Manage proposal schedules, outlines, and storyboards to maintain workflow.
- Facilitate group reviews and incorporate feedback for final quality control.
- Evaluate proposal sections for clarity, coherence, compliance, and storytelling quality.
- Communicate with external stakeholders, including customers and teaming partners.

Job Requirements
3-5 years of experience in technical writing for U.S. Federal Government proposals.Proven ability to develop compliant and persuasive federal proposal content.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills.Ability to translate complex technical content into clear, concise narratives.Experience with federal contract vehicles such as eBuy, GSA Schedules, Seaport-NxG, and OASIS.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-team collaboration.Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, English, or related field.Ability to manage multiple proposal components and meet deadlines.Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator or other graphics tools is a plus.Education Requirements
