ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Director, Special Projects and Services we are seeking an experienced Site Supervisor to oversee the on-site construction and installation of rollercoasters and other large-scale amusement rides. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in construction management, hands-on experience with crane operations, and a proven ability to lead teams safely and efficiently in complex build environments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise daily construction activities at the project site, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
- Coordinate and direct site crews, subcontractors, and equipment operators during ride assembly and installation.
- Oversee crane operations for heavy lifts, ensuring all rigging, lifting, and safety protocols are strictly followed.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and client representatives to communicate progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project specifications.
- Enforce compliance with company safety policies, local building codes, and occupational health and safety regulations.
- Maintain detailed site documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and incident records.
- Identify and proactively address potential risks, delays, or hazards on the job site.
- Mentor and support crew members to maintain a safe, productive, and collaborative work environment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil / Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred but not mandatory).Valid health & safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, WHMIS, First Aid) an asset.Applicant can be based in North America and have the ability to travel internationallyKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Minimum 5+ years' experience in construction supervision, preferably on large-scale steel, infrastructure, or amusement ride projects.Proven track record of managing construction crews and coordinating subcontractors on complex projects.Familiarity with structural steel assembly, bolted and welded connections, and large mechanical systems.Excellent understanding of construction safety standards and regulatory requirements.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions on-site.Excellent communication and leadership skills with a hands-on management style.Willingness to travel internationally and work extended schedules when required.Martin & Vleminckx is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
