Role Overview
We are seeking a technically skilled Data Modeling Analyst to join our Business Intelligence / Data Analytics team, supporting our backend reporting infrastructure and data workflows. This role is ideal for someone who excels in SQL development and specifically Microsoft Report Builder.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining SQL-based solutions, optimizing data models, and enabling scalable reporting systems that support business operations and decision-making. While SQL and Microsoft Report Builder are the primary focus, this role also includes developing, maintaining, and supporting a broad range of data analytics reporting. This position is based in our Kansas City corporate office and enjoys a hybrid work schedule.
Primary Responsibilities
- Build and optimize paginated reports using Microsoft Report Builder.
- Design, implement, and maintain SQL-based queries, tables, user-defined functions, and stored procedures to support robust data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) workflows.
- Support backend Power BI development, including dataset creation and DAX measures.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance across systems.
- Document data sources, transformation logic, and reporting standards.
- Contribute to special projects and cross-functional initiatives, as well as perform other duties as assigned in support of the overall goals and efficiency of the organization.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, with a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in data modeling, analysis, reporting, or a related development / data-focused roleExperience with Microsoft Report Builder and SSRS.Proficiency in SQL query language including joins, CTEs, indexing, and performance tuning.Solid understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing, Power BI and Symantec model building based on multiple sourcesAdvanced Excel skills for ad-hoc analysis and validation.Strong communication and documentation skills.Familiarity with Azure SQL Database or other cloud-based data platforms.Prior experience with Azure data services (Data Factory, Synapse, SQL, DB) and Microsoft Power BI, Dax, and / or Python preferred.What We Can Offer You :
