IT Audit Associate

This is a hybrid position located in Columbus Ohio and you will be required to come into the office two days per week.

This role does not qualify for employer sponsored work authorization. Nationwide does not participate in the STEM OPT extension program.

Summary

An experienced IT Audit Associate with hands-on expertise in auditing and accounting information systems, with a strong emphasis on AuditBoard platform administration and optimization. This professional brings a technical background in IT systems, specializing in system configuration, user permissions, workflow design, and audit template management. Adept at bridging the gap between audit requirements and system capabilities, they ensure compliance, efficiency, and data integrity across internal audit processes. Their role supports the broader risk and compliance functions by leveraging technology to streamline audit execution and reporting.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain AuditBoard system settings to align with internal audit methodologies and organizational policies.
• Manage user roles and permissions to ensure appropriate access controls and segregation of duties.
• Design and optimize workflows within AuditBoard to support audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting processes.
• Develop and maintain standardized audit templates for consistent documentation and reporting across engagements.
• Collaborate with internal audit, IT, and compliance teams to ensure system functionality supports audit objectives.
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with AuditBoard support or internal IT teams for resolution.
• Monitor system usage and performance, recommending enhancements to improve efficiency and user experience.
• Assist in the integration of AuditBoard with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, GRC platforms) as needed.
• Provide training and support to audit team members on system features and best practices.
• Stay current on AuditBoard updates and industry trends to ensure optimal system utilization.

Reporting Relationships : Reports to Audit Director / Audit Officer

Typical Skills and Experiences :

Education : Bachelor's degree in business, technical, or related field preferred.

License / Certification / Designation : Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, CFE, PMP) or progress toward becoming certified desired.

Experience : Typically, four to six years of experience in audit, risk management or a related field. Experience in the insurance and financial services industry is preferred.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills : Applied knowledge in audit, business and IT general concepts and theory. Must have an operational knowledge and application of audit practices to multiple functional areas. Must have knowledge of project management and motivational theory. Must have strong business insight. Must have critical thinking and decision-making skills for problem and / or enhancement identification and solution recommendation. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment and work on multiple projects at a time. Strong organizational and time management skills. Must possess leadership skills to empower and influence. Must possess good coaching and consulting skills.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
