Top Secret Position in Engineering - Systems

Port Hueneme, CA (On-Site / Office)

Duties :

You will serve as Branch Manager and provide managerial and supervisory functions as the first level supervisor directing employees both technically and administratively.

You will have the delegated managerial authority for planning and determining implementation of goals and objectives of the branch.

You will provide program management, planning, technical documentation development, technical support, and system integration guidance.

You will formulate approaches and proposals to program tasks; negotiate and discuss both technical and budgetary program plans; review and monitor technical performance and analyze new developments for potential application to program requirements.

You will direct and manage technical projects related to the life cycle support and maintenance of weapon / combat systems and other equipment in the purview of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division.

Requirements :

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

• This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications :

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band or grade level (GS-11 / 12) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following : leading the technical planning, implementation, system integration and support of Combat Systems and Weapon Systems to ensure the efficient and effective execution of ship warfare readiness operational objectives.

PPP applicants will be placed at the FPL, if determined Well Qualified (WQ). This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.
