The Opportunity
The IT Supplier Management Office (SMO) plays a critical role in aligning IT Leadership, IT Operations, Procurement, and contracted Service Providers to ensure the effective delivery of software and asset-related services.
The SMO ensures compliance with software licensing agreements, optimizes asset utilization, and drives value through strategic contract, performance, and financial management. This role supports continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and strong vendor relationships in the software and digital asset domain.
Role Summary
The Senior IT Vendor Manager - Supplier Management Office is responsible for leading strategic vendor relationships and managing complex IT contracts across the organization. This role ensures optimal value delivery from third-party technology providers through effective financial oversight, performance monitoring, and collaborative engagement. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in contract lifecycle management, supplier governance, and financial stewardship of multi-million-dollar IT portfolios.
This high-visibility position requires collaboration with senior IT leaders, software vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure software relationships are effectively governed in alignment with business needs.
Successful candidates will offer a strategic perspective, sound business and finance judgment, deep analytical capabilities, and an energetic and collaborative working style. The role will exercise latitude in the approach to problem solving.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic IT vendors, fostering long-term partnerships.Lead regular business reviews to assess vendor performance, resolve issues, and identify improvement opportunities.Lead financial forecasting, budgeting, and cost optimization initiatives related to vendor engagements.Analyze spend data to identify savings opportunities, rationalize vendor portfolios, and improve ROI.Support invoice validation, dispute resolution, and vendor payment processes in collaboration with finance and procurement.Support contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with IT strategy and licensing best practices.Required Skills and Experience
Overall, 10-15 years of experience including 7+ years in Vendor Management.Proven track record managing large-scale IT vendor portfolios and complex contract negotiations.Strong understanding of IT services, software licensing, cloud agreements, and outsourcing models.Exposure to legal processes / principles, pricing constructs and commercial best practices - confidentiality, data security and privacyMulti-faceted approach to relationship management to include a broad range of communication and problem-solving skills (accommodation, flexibility, support, understanding and more)Experience in packaging high-quality documents with a meticulous attention to detailPreferred Skills :
