Our client is seeking an Instructional Curriculum Designer to join their Digital Engineering Center (DEC) team in support of digital transformation and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) adoption initiatives. This role will design, develop, and deliver scalable training strategies that drive adoption and effective use of Digital Engineering (DE) tools and PLM methodologies across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with expertise in instructional design, technical training, and change management who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Partner with leadership to design and implement a comprehensive training strategy aligned with digital transformation goals and user needs.
- Conduct needs assessments and user research to identify skill gaps, pain points, and opportunities for targeted training.
- Develop and deliver role-based training programs (engineers, specialists, leadership) using blended approaches : eLearning, live workshops, demos, AI assistants, and knowledge bases.
- Translate complex technical content into clear, engaging, and accessible training experiences.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and functional leads to ensure training accuracy and impact.
- Support the design, development, and delivery of online, in-person, and blended training programs.
- Partner with data science teams to track adoption metrics and continuously improve training effectiveness.
- Maintain alignment with evolving DE / PLM roadmaps to ensure training content remains current and relevant.
- Support change management and user readiness during onboarding, rollouts, and process transitions.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Instructional Design, Education, Business Management (with Marketing Emphasis), or related field—or equivalent experience (advanced background in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science or related field is preferred).5+ years of experience in PLM systems, digital engineering, or technical training strategy, with at least 2 years in instructional design / training roles.Proven experience designing and delivering technical training in complex, fast-paced environments.Exceptional communication and facilitation skills with the ability to simplify technical concepts.Experience with training platforms such as Articulate, Camtasia, SharePoint, Learning Management Systems (LMS), or similar.Familiarity with Agile development processes and engineering lifecycle workflows.Knowledge of PLM tools (i.e., Aras Innovator, Siemens Teamcenter, Windchill) and digital engineering practices (i.e., model-based systems engineering, digital thread, data integration) is a plus.Experience using data analytics or reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau) to evaluate training effectiveness is highly preferred.Knowledge of aerospace, defense, R&D, or other highly regulated environments is a plus.Experience leading change management and user adoption initiatives is helpful.Due to the nature of the work, an Interim clearance is required (active Secret clearance is a plus).Selected candidate will be subject to a post offer background check and must be able to maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance.
