job_description.job_card.job_descriptionAbility to work for long periods while seated; standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday Ability to lift up to 35 lbs from floor to 4 ft; push or pull pallet jack up to 450 lbs Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and computer screens Ability to travel for business (domestic and international) 4-year college degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology or 2-year degree with 4 years of manufacturing experience Knowledge / experience troubleshooting test equipment problems in hardware and software Knowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics and programming Knowledge / experience troubleshooting production equipment Excellent communication skills Flexible in working shifts as required to meet production schedules Experience with technical computer language and its applications Knowledge / experience with power electronics Familiarity with manufacturing processes Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required Automotive industry experience, with emphasis in electro / mechanical devices Knowledge of EV components such as inverters and motors Fluency in Japanese Visual C++ Certification Experience with VXI, PXI and GPIB instrument interfaces Automotive electronics experience Experience with National Instruments TestStand and / or Agilent Test Exec SL Knowledge / experience with automotive power electronics Intermediate experience in Windows, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel AutoCAD and SolidWorks Ladder Logic – various platforms Personal Computer Multimeter Oscilloscope Electro / Mechanical Testing Equipment Travel Required : 5–10% Domestic; 5–10% International (during project start-up) Open office setting; factory setting with noise Mid-Senior level Full-time Management and Manufacturing Motor Vehicle Manufacturing
Overview
This position will be part of the xEV Drive Unit team for Electric Vehicle products and will be responsible for functional test development, testing programs, process improvements and production support for both New Product Introduction as well as Mass Production support. This position has direct contact with multiple departments within the manufacturing site and will support other departments for all testing-related concerns.
Responsibilities
- Plan, develop, build and program functional test systems
- Collect and analyze test performance data to drive process improvements
- Support production for test-related issues
- Troubleshoot, repair and maintain test equipment
- Develop process documentation
- Actively participate in continuous improvement efforts
- Assist other departments in setting up testing trials / experiments for customer / internal trouble testing
- Work within small teams to develop manufacturing locations and processes to support smooth mass production start-up of EV products
- Support Design team in developing testing specifications and applying them to testing equipment for EV products
- Support PE test in development, manufacturing and installation of testing equipment
- Develop testing program protocols, including secure storage, transfer to equipment, change point controls and verifications of equipment / products
- Typical NPI duties as detailed by internal Astemo and customer requirements for start-up of new product / location
