As Senior Engineering Manager for the Perception engineering team at Labelbox, you will lead a team that builds easy-to-use and efficient tools that support the development of cutting-edge AI systems like those for generative AI and computer vision.

In this role, you will manage the team's daily operations, including sprint planning, daily standups, and one-on-one meetings, ensuring smooth execution and continuous progress. You will also contribute technical expertise in full-stack development, guiding the team in building robust and efficient systems.

Collaboration is keyyou will work closely with other engineering teams to align on architecture, share best practices, and drive cross-functional initiatives. This role requires a strong foundation in full-stack frameworks.

Ensure efficient execution by leading sprint planning, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining alignment with business objectives while meeting deadlines and quality standards.

Shape system architecture by collaborating with engineers to design robust, scalable infrastructure that meets evolving business and technical needs.

Enable cross-functional success by working closely with other engineering teams to align priorities and translate stakeholder needs into impactful deliverables.

Improve developer productivity by ensuring infrastructure, tools, and processes support efficient development while maintaining security, reliability, and scalability.

Stay at the forefront of technology by keeping up with industry trends, integrating new insights into engineering practices, and contributing to technical documentation to support knowledge sharing.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).

Proven technical leadership with 4+ years of experience in full-stack development and 2+ years managing highly technical engineering teams.

Strong software design and architecture skills, with experience in API development, schema design, etc.

Expertise in programming languages such as TypeScript and Python, with a disciplined approach to software development focused on testing and quality.

Hands-on experience with front-end frameworks like React.

Project management expertise, including experience with agile methodologies and tools like Jira, demonstrating ownership of end-to-end project delivery.

Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, enabling effective teamwork across engineering, product, and design teams.

Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, with a proactive, problem-solving mindset and a willingness to dive deep to drive results.

Bonus : Experience with leveraging large language models (e.g., GPT-4, Gemini) for product development, and working with AI service APIs (e.g., text-to-speech, speech-to-text, translation, transcription).

Our engineering team works with a modern tech stack designed for scalability, performance, and developer efficiency :

Annual base salary range $220,000 - $250,000 USD
