Staff Accountant

Junior Benefits Staff Accountant (Remote)

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Junior Benefits Staff Accountant to join their remote team. This role supports the accounting and reconciliation of employee benefit-related expenses, including medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, and other programs. The ideal candidate will be eager to grow their accounting career while contributing to accurate financial operations and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities :

• Assist with processing and validating benefit vendor invoices
• Support timely and accurate payments for benefits-related expenses
• Help reconcile benefit-related accounts and investigate discrepancies
• Contribute to month-end close activities, journal entries, and reporting
• Provide documentation for audits and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Collaborate with Benefits and Finance teams to maintain accurate records

Qualifications :

Minimum of 1 years of accounting experience, preferably in benefits-related roles.

Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing general ledger accounts.

Strong skills in account reconciliation and variance analysis.

Familiarity with compensation and benefit accounting processes.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.

Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams.

Understanding of compliance requirements and audit processes.
