Sweet Mandy B’s is looking for a Pastry Chef in Streeterville. Training will be provided onsite on all recipes, products, equipment and operations to ensure that all bakery items are prepared to our specifications and standards in a timely manner.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Able to read and comprehend basic recipes
- Capable in making cake batters, cookie doughs, buttercream, brownies, bases
- Able to scoop / portion cookies & cupcake batter, bar cookies, brownies, frosting
- Maintain proper safety of equipment and surroundings including good sanitation and personal hygiene
- Maintain thorough organization of batters, doughs, and all other perishable / non-perishable BOH ingredients
- Improving food cost by strict adherence to recipes and procedures, minimizing waste
- Working to review product offerings, improve product quality and develop new items on a seasonal basis
- Willing to be crossed trained into other areas of the bakery
Requirements :
Culinary Education a minimum of 2 year work experience highly desiredMust be detail oriented, highly organized, possess good communication skills, ability to solve problems, & have effective time management skillsAbility to work positively in a fast-paced environment and work effectively within a teamMust be able to work quickly in a confined area and stand for extended periods of timeDemonstrate reliability, punctuality, and accountabilityAbility to lift up to 50 lbs as neededThe availability to arrive to work at 6 : 30am, work 8-10 hours / day, including weekends and holidaysPlease email resume & cover letter to : <
