Overview
This position serves as the project lead for bringing new products to market and managing the product life cycle; reviews and recommends product forecasting and market analysis for the replacement parts market; and initiates product enhancements through problem resolution and the warranty process.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor market trends and identify new product development and marketing opportunities. Assess competitor offerings and initiate competitive responses. Gather and analyze input from Customers and Sales Representatives on demand, features, functions, and benefits. Estimate investment and expected return on new opportunities; develop strategies to capitalize on opportunities or counter competition.
- Develop product launch and market entry plans, including identifying target customers for early adoption. Establish sales targets and monitor progress.
- Achieve annual sales volume and gross margin objectives.
- Serve as the technical resource for assigned products for the Parts Sales & Product Management Department.
- Forecast item usage and monitor performance of new and existing items to meet customer requirements. Identify problems and trends that could affect delivery performance goals.
- Gather and analyze warranty-related issues to identify areas for product enhancements, design problem resolution, or manufacturing improvements.
- Proactively engage customers (e.g., calls, site visits) to grow sales for assigned product lines.
- Monitor and report sales performance for assigned product lines using ERP and reporting tools; identify and implement process improvements to increase team efficiency.
- Provide customer and internal presentations to promote new and existing products.
- Assist in developing marketing and sales materials for new or existing products or lines.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned to advance corporate strategic goals.
Education and Experience
Minimum of 2 years of product management or technical sales experience is preferred.Characteristics and Skills
