Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN with a current CA license for a Level 2 Neonatal ICU night shift position requiring BLS and NRP certification.
Responsibilities
Work in a Level 2 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) within an acute care setting31-bed NICU caring for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and up, including preterm, multiples, and drug withdrawal casesShift is nights, 12 hours in length, with every other weekend requiredPatient ratios are 1 : 1, 1 : 2, or 1 : 3 depending on acuityUtilizes Cerner EMR; experience with Cerner preferredEquipment includes GE telemetry and ventilators; oscillators used, no ECMO or surgeryNeonatologist on call 24 / 7, with respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24 / 7No nurse aides on unit; charge nurse support is presentFloor-specific orientation consists of one shiftRequired to be on call and report within 30 minutes if census dropsCare for preterm neonates, multiples, and infants with drug withdrawal and high-risk conditionsRunner role attends high-risk deliveries and C-sections and participates in rapid response for neonatesNo floating required for this positionRequired to work 2 out of 3 major holidaysScrub color is navyFirst-time travelers may be consideredCandidates must not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past year unless through an outside firm on PRN statusRequirements
Active unrestricted CA RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 3 years Level 2 or higher NICU nursing experience requiredCurrent BLS (AHA) and NRP certification required; STABLE preferredTwo professional references are required, including one supervisor reference from the past year and one peer or supervisor from the past three yearsCopy of driver’s license must be providedExperience with Cerner EMR preferredBenefits
