This position is a field-based role supporting the Northeast region (New Hampshire / Connecticut / New York) with potential regional travel; it is described as a home office-based position.
Responsibilities
- Perform skilled, technical, and advisory work in the installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration of diagnostic and / or imaging devices or systems.
- Collaborate with radiation physicists to perform quality assurance testing and calibration.
- Train medical and clinical staff on the safe and proper use of diagnostic imaging equipment and systems.
- Travel to regional customer locations to install, service, and support equipment.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair imaging equipment using established tests and measurement techniques.
- Discuss pending installations, new construction, repairs, preventive maintenance, de-installations and recalls with internal and external resources.
- Install units and provide in-house customer product and unit training.
- Perform scheduled maintenance, calibrations, and modifications per procedures, specifications, and codes.
- Document service activities, prepare training documentation and installation certifications as required by the company and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain knowledge of service software and respond to Support Services when calls are dispatched; schedule service responses to meet contractual obligations.
- Submit service reports and Preventive Maintenance documents within established guidelines; manage expense reports and part orders as needed.
- Coordinate with Product Support Specialist, Area Service Manager and Sales Team on customer contacts and issue resolution.
- Contribute to retention and growth of contract and Time and Materials (T&M) revenue for areas of responsibility.
- Adhere to ISO13485 requirements relevant to Field Service Engineers and participate in ongoing education and training to maintain current technical aptitude.
- Provide on-call coverage on a rotating basis as needed.
Qualifications
Five years of plus experience servicing PET-CT and / or NucMed equipment.Previous mechanical, electronics, or electrical work experience in field service or hospital setting.Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, and / or electronic equipment; troubleshooting customer concerns.Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and basic networking knowledge.Experience interfacing with internal teams and external customers in a solution-based service process.Familiarity with electronic test equipment (e.g., Digital Multimeters, safety analyzers) and the ability to interpret schematics and manuals for biomedical and imaging instrumentation.Ability to obtain customer facility access credentials (may include drug testing, immunizations such as Covid vaccination) as required by customer policies.High school diploma or GED; preferred degree in electronics, biomedical engineering / technology, electrical engineering, or equivalent (military equivalency acceptable).Strong problem-solving, communication, time management, and multitasking abilities; willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, and rotating on-call schedule, including weekends.Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 80% of the time; good driving record.Work Environment & Travel
